Tender Estimator – Soho Built (AHB Group of companies, Victoria’s largest Builder)

We’re now seeking an experienced Tender Estimator to join the Soho Built team in Port Melbourne. Reporting directly to the General Manager and Managing Director, this role plays a key part in delivering competitive, accurate, and high-quality tender submissions that drive business success.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Review tender documentation, drawings, and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates and BOQs.
• Manage end-to-end tender preparation, ensuring submissions are accurate, compliant, and on time.
• Produce comprehensive tender documents and returnable schedules ready for submission.
• Coordinate tender workflows to meet critical deadlines.
• Provide strategic input to help secure successful tender outcomes.
• Identify project risks and recommend mitigation strategies within tender submissions.
• Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure competitiveness.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
• Negotiate pricing and terms to achieve optimal commercial outcomes.
• Conduct risk assessments and identify cost-saving or value management opportunities.
• Prepare tender clarifications, qualifications, and supporting documentation.
• Present tender submissions for senior management review and approval.
• Support the transition and handover of successful tenders to delivery teams.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of tendering systems, processes, and documentation.

What You’ll Bring

• Proven experience as an Estimator within the residential or commercial construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, costs, and materials.
• Strong experience in Projects and Medium Density is a MUST.
• Proficiency in estimating software and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Sound understanding of Victorian building codes, standards, and contract frameworks.
