Senior Estimator – Soho Built (Mirrastone Group, Victoria’s Largest Builder)

Soho Built is expanding and establishing a new division focused on dual occupancy and small-scale residential construction. We’re looking for an experienced Estimator to join our Soho Built team in Port Melbourne.

Reporting directly to the General Manager and Head of Operations, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys ownership, variety, and long-term growth. You will begin in a dual-role capacity supporting both estimating and selected client coordination activities. As the division grows, the position will naturally evolve into a more senior and managerial role.

What You Will Be Doing

• Preparing detailed cost estimates, BOQs and pricing schedules for dual occupancy & small residential projects
• Reviewing architectural/engineering drawings, specifications and tender documents
• Completing quantity take-offs and analysing labour, material, equipment and subcontractor costs
• Sourcing, evaluating and negotiating subcontractor and supplier quotes
• Maintaining up-to-date market rate and supplier databases
• Identifying scope gaps, risks and constructability issues
• Recommending value-engineering options to improve cost efficiency
• Ensuring all estimates comply with relevant codes, standards and project requirements
• Reviewing contractual conditions and tender documentation
• Liaising with senior management on tender progress and workflow
• Participating in project handover meetings
• Providing cost advice during early design stages
• Preparing tender submissions, cost reports and estimate breakdowns
• Maintaining organised records, workflows and job status reporting

What You’ll Bring

• Experienced in residential estimating (dual occ / small projects ideal)
• Highly accurate with strong analytical and numerical skills
• Confident interpreting technical drawings and specifications
• An effective communicator with strong negotiation ability
• Organised, deadline-driven and commercially aware
• Proficient in MS Office and estimating software
